This is a slow ballad. The drum track starts with quarter note ride cymbal accompanied by some tom and crash fills before heading into a simple beat played softly on the snare, hi-hat and kick drum. It is basically a backbeat without the kick on three. The intro returns as an interlude, then the verse comes back in. A slight variation appears later with the full-on backbeat. Some simple fills are scattered throughout this drum beat. A little over three minutes in, the verse groove is played with cross stick instead of snare. The intro appears several times throughout the song. The outro features a heavy version of the groove played with crash cymbal.
