This is a slow groove, but the snare is hit hard and with authority. It begins with a simple eighth note-based pattern with a closed hi-hat before it drops out for a beat and builds into a bigger, opened hi-hat part. After a few measures that include some fills and embellishments, the beat once again drops out momentarily before returning to the quieter, closed hi-hat pattern. Crash cymbal hits on the one and the "and" of two characterize the theme of this track, which eventually leads into a ride cymbal-driven bridge with lots of cymbal hits and a big triplet tom fill among other embellishments. The track returns to the hi-hat pattern after a longer break, then simmers down to just the hi-hat and kick at the end.
