Cool Site!

My name is Robert Antilla.

I play guitar. My music(or sound really) is pretty dissonant.

I am Terrible at programming beats or organizing loops.

Or maybe it's just discouraging knowing that the end result is just a simulation of the real thing.

I am presently working with two of Tolkes' tracks who i find to be an outstanding drummer.

I am interested in any collaborations with drummers to create
sonic soundscapes. Improvisational energy and spontanaety are what i bring.

Songwriting is not one of my strong points.

I'll post finished tracks in the near future.

Thanks! I'm at myspace.com/robertantilla, R o bRobert Antilla on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

Hi Robert!

It's great having you here.
We're currently working on building a community that supports each other when making music.
I've been listening to your material, and you're right. It is actually a little dissonant, which is special actually.
The mix sounds a little messy on those myspace tracks. What interface are you using for recording? And how do you do the mix?

Collaboration with people is always great.
When we'll bring the forum up completely, you might be able to find someone within the community.

It's great hearing you're working with Tolke's drum tracks! Looking forward to hear the result.
When you're done, make sure to upload it here and we will listen and give you our feedbacks.

By the way, that 4400 A.D. song has a great potential! Have you thought of adding lyrics + more instruments to it?

Indeed I find Tolke's drum tracks the most usable for me. I am into Fusion, Funk, and Rock generally playing the electric piano or rhodes. While listening to the demos I really think they are outstanding. Currently I am deciding which ones to pick-up. The other artists are excellent too and it lends a nice variety to the site.

People willing to do full length drum tracks are quite difficult to find on the Internet. As a keyboardist and guitarist, it's quite a bit of fun as an alternative to loops or midi based beats.

Great work!

Jim

Using a Boss Br-1200 to record. And mix. These aren't really songs just rough sketches. Kind of and assembly line approach of spontaneous jams. Just ideas. Trying to keep things very basic is the main challenge. I'm just killin' time until I can work with other musicians. Multitracking for me is just a way to simulate a group interaction and it definitely falls short of the real thing.

Thanks for the feedback. All excellent drummers on this site! Planning on working with all of them and looking forward to it!

Hi Robert.

First of all, cheers for your initiative! I think it's great that you're hanging out in music websites looking for info on music creation and joining a community.

If you ask me I think 'killing time' wouldn't be the right approach for making music.
Collaboration will arrive sooner or later if you just keep doing what you're doing (not refer it like 'waiting till something happens') but just keeping on making good stuff for yourself and for everyone!

Drumtracks is not only about offering tracks. We are here to help musicians to bring good stuff to the world!
If our drum tracks could be used to make better songs, then we can say we reached our goal.

Our staff is here to support the community and inspire everyone to create an awesome creative atmosphere.

Write here any questions if you have .

Default Spanish Blue

Hey Robert,

Was just browsing the site and got a chance to hear some of your work.
Was particularly blown away by "Spanish Blue" !

I found it deeply soulful and mesmerizing. Nice job. Sounds like you've been playing for a while and really feel it. Quite unique.

Thanks for Sharing,
Brian Fox
