A quick intro on the toms/snare/kick launches this track into a hot, up-tempo Latin groove. The throbbing, almost tribal kick dares you not to dance, while clean, skillful work on the hats and occasional snare and cymbal embellishments offer the perfect counterpoint. Fills are intricate and fast, coming in the form of assorted snare rolls, toms runs and cool cymbal accents. At 1:25 there is a quick breakdown to the hats, until the snare takes it back to the groove. At 2:12 an ear-catching ride comes in, hard and bright, and at 2:33 a snare/toms/kick fill spins the track into a straight-ahead backbeat, which transitions into a big toms change that gradually finds its way back to the beat, before ending in a blaze of Latin infused glory.
