This track looks like it might be slow, but it has inner fastness, if you know what I mean. The first thing that stands out is the cool bassy overtone emanating from the kick drum, almost drone-like. The song wastes no time, dropping into a heavy kick/snare/ride groove intro that lasts until about 00:20 when a fill on the toms brings it down to a short rest. Following that, it starts building, starting with just the kick and hats before plunging back into the big groove again at 00:56. Tight toms/cymbal fills make up most of the transitions as the track moves back and forth from heavy to soft, light to dark, yang to yin, finally ending in a wash of cymbals.
