A deft roll on the hi-hat opens this song, and then quickly drops into a hi-hat/kick/snare groove featuring a complex cross-sticking pattern on the snare, and interspersed with cymbal chokes. After a short rest at 00:50, we jump back into the groove switching out the cross-sticking with the full-on "bright and tight" snare. The song moves fluidly back and forth between these two parts, interspersed with interesting variations and fills on the hi-hats, snare and toms, and even a hint of cowbell. Very dynamic track that is alive and kicking.
