This song opens with a rolling snare/kick/toms march, accented with a few light cymbal strokes -- it gives a feeling of anticipation which pays off at 1:00 when a quick change drops the track into a hard backbeat, where the full power of a crisp, resonant snare is unleashed. The kick and toms pack a nice bassy punch, and the hats and cymbals embellish nicely through a variety of fills and builds before dropping back into the march at 1:50 for a few bars. A toms fill drops the track back to the backbeat where it gathers momentum using cymbal fills and rhythm change-ups. In the end the song reverts back to the march, but with the full snare in place of the rolls.
