A Good Woman Is Hard To Find

Have you ever been driving down the highway and you go past your exit on purpose because the song on the radio is just so good that you don't want to stop yet? That's this track in a nutshell. A six second intro sets the tone for the track with a great fill on the snare/toms and kick, before dropping into a blazing up-tempo back beat. Embellishments come from the snare and cymbals, and then a toms fill sets up a cool rhythm change at 1:00 with snare rolls and impressive runs on the toms, kick and cymbals. Then it's back to the main groove-- this time with the addition of a more pronounced crash cymbal in the mix. The song breaks down at 1:47 to the hats and occasional kick, and then it’s back to the groove, this time with the ride in place of the crash. It moves back and forth for the rest of the song between build-up and break down, with lots of variety in the fills, until it all ends with a classic big finish. A good woman is hard to find-- and so is a good track, but once you find them you have to lock 'em down... at least with the track you don't have to buy a ring.
