A straight ahead, relaxed backbeat featuring the kick/hi-hats and snappy cross-sticking on the snare forms the main groove of this piece, embodying the principle of "keep it tight, keep it simple." Well timed flourishes on the china cymbal/hi-hats/ride cymbal add subtle variation throughout, with a few quick rests thrown in to complete the minimalist feel. At 2:57 there is a breakdown to the kick and ride, until picking up the cross-sticking snare again, and then following through until it comes full circle, ending the same way it began.
