This song starts with a booming fill on the toms, accented with cymbal and snare, before dropping into a sparse and tribal kick/hi-hat beat, then it kicks into the second part - a laid back groove that features great natural reverb on the snare, and tight work on the hats. The song moves back and forth between these two parts, transitioning with perfectly placed cymbal/toms/snare fills, and nice accent work on the hi-hats, and then stops on a dime. It's rock, but with a funk feel, something that wouldn't be out of place on a gritty NY cop show from the late 70's
