This song opens with a short tight snare roll/kick drum beat that drops into a serious groove with a cymbal splash, and the hi-hats coming in on the one. The groove doesn't stray too far, but the fills are where all the action is-- building momentum and intensity with booming toms and lots of cymbals. The snare is punchy and the kick is heavy. It's like your on a beach watching a storm coming in, the waves getting bigger and bigger. There are a couple of rests at 3:12 to 3:19 before the song dives headfirst into a big ending that features snare rolls and tom runs drenched in cymbals.
