8th note ride cymbal and quarter note kick drum start the drum track off, then a low tom starts hitting 2 and 4. Eventually, a beat starts in with the snare hitting beats 2 and 3. Beat 4 is sometimes a snare hit, sometimes a tom fill. This is the peak to the intro's valley, and the peaks and valleys go back and forth, building up and coming down. A bridge has the 2, 3 and 4 snare plus an open hi-hat, then busts into a heavy crash cymbal pattern. The drum beat ends on a softer note.
