The introduction to this song is all about the cymbals-- splash, crash and hi-hat-- and it's as close as your going to get to the sound of a viking forging a sword. That sets the tone for what's to come-- a heavy backbeat groove featuring a wide open kick drum with bassy overtones, and a punchy snare. Just when you think it can't get any heavier, the toms come in-- they are big, meaty and in your face, and accented by equally big cymbal crashes. There's a breakdown at 3:07 dropping down to just the sound of the ride cymbal with accents on the crash, and this transitions into a short rest at 3:29 before the whole thing sets sail for Valhalla with a big finish.
