This song doesn't waste any time, dropping right into the groove with a big open snare, a punchy kick, and a steady hi-hat rhythm. This transitions with a fill on the toms/snare/kick/cymbals, and launches into an intense second part featuring heavily on the ride and crash cymbals. There is a cymbal breakdown at 2:30 punctuated with kick and crash, which is then brought back to life with the thundering sound of the toms. Nice transitions and fills throughout. The song continues to move back and forth between the two parts-- one a dialed back, tight rhythm, and the other intense, looser and heavy-- not unlike the light and dark of the yin and yang, balancing each other perfectly.
